Brochures and Programs

Introduction

Following are copies of three of the annual promotional brochures about Tally-Ho Music Camp issued by the Bradleys. Also displayed are copies of programs for eight Sunday-evening concerts that we consider to have extra special significance, and we mention the respective reasons why. In addition, view copies of both opening-night and closing-night concerts for 14 of Tally-Ho’s 18 seasons.

We thank those former-campers who have provided us with original brochures or programs that they had saved. We have taken good care of your contributions, and our aim is to present complete sets of both brochures and programs to the Honeoye Historical Society for its Tally-Ho Music Camp Archives Collection.

And we could use some more help.

We haven’t yet found originals (or copies) for every Tally-Ho brochure and program. Lists of those still missing are shown below. Maybe YOU have one? If you know the location of brochures or programs for those years, we request that you please let us know where they may be found.

Brochures

After Tally-Ho’s initial season, promotional brochures were printed and distributed for every year that Tally-Ho Music Camp existed (we’re not sure whether a brochure was prepared for 1948).

In addition to the copies we had saved, the collection of original brochures accumulated so far includes copies contributed by Bob, Chuck, Wayne, Jan, Dorn, Jean, Mike and Ross. Thanks(!) to all of you; in the future, the collection will safely reside at the Honeoye Historical Society.

As of mid-2008, we are still searching to find original brochures pertaining to a number of seasons, as detailed below:

The table below indicates for which years original brochures are (as of May, 2008) still being sought (marked X) so that the collection for the Honeoye Museum may be complete. Please let us know if you can help in regard to this search.

We learned something quite surprising when initially contacting one former-camper in early 2006. He told us that he had a Tally-Ho brochure dated 1966, and he subsequently sent it to us to be included in the collection for the Honeoye Historical Society. Since the final season for Tally-Ho Music Camp was 1965, the fact that this “surprise brochure” had been printed indicates that Mrs. Bradley had, at least up to the time of the brochure’s distribution, intended that Camp continue for a 1966 season. (2006 Reunion note: Being able to review this 1966 brochure was a huge bonus, for information it contained allowed us to complete the construction of a full 18-year roster of campers who attended Tally-Ho Music Camp. Prior to reading the list of the ’65 campers’ names and schools on that brochure’s back page, we had very little information as to who most of the kids during the camp’s final season had been.)

Programs

We feel fortunate to have assembled a significant collection of original Sunday-evening Tally-Ho Music Camp concert programs (many bear conductors’ autographs), that we intend to be added to the Honeoye Historical Society Museum’s Tally-Ho Music Camp Archives.

In addition to copies we each had saved, contributors of other original programs have been Jack, Chuck, Mike, Nina, Wayne, Jan, Dorn, Jean and Laird. Many thanks to each of you!

We hope that some people who come upon this TallyHoMusicCamp.org website may know where we could locate some of the still-missing programs. Please let us know if you can help. Opening- Night and Closing-Night Programs – 1951 to 1964

Below are copies of programs for the first and last concerts (except for 1959, 1960 and 1963, all these copies are of originals that we have so far collected). Many of the original programs bear conductor’s autographs [see CONDUCTORS].

We hope everyone (ESPECIALLY former TH-campers) enjoys looking through the various selections performed at these concerts.

Note: While newspaper archive resources have provided lists of works performed at concerts in 1948, 1949 and 1950 (available upon request from Sue and Hank Schmitt [see CONTACT US]), Opening-Concert and Closing-Concert programs have not yet been located for those years (nor 1965). Thus, the initial concert-program displayed below is from 1951.
